Our Second Family

Since 2005 we have been meeting once a week with our small group. These people are not only or sisters and brothers in Christ, but also our closest friends. Over the last 4 years our group has metemorphisized several times. Started out with us and the Kearns, than came Durans followed by the Rilees, than the Kauers, than the Schaffers, and last the Cochruns. We all were together for about a year or a little more until the Rilees moved to Alaska in 2007, the Kearns branched off to another group in 2008 as the Schaffers moved to California. We than added the Springers and have been together for almost 2 years now. I cant express how much this group has meant to us. We have gone through so many struggles through the loss of pregnancies, fathers, uncles, and grandfathers. We have prayed over car accidents and job losses. We have shared joy in the births of our children and the purchases of our homes. We have celebrated holidays together and most importanly we have grown in our relationship with Christ side by side with one another. Although our group will continue to change over the years I am so thankful to know that we have such amazing friends to count on as we journey through this life together and serve the Lord.

The picture was taken last week as we had our last small group with the Durans who today...on only a few hours...will be boarding a plane and flying their family to Peru for 2 years. They will be in our DAILY prayers and we are SO proud of their call and response to serve the Lord.
