This last weekend I was able to go spend time with my bf Megan. We had such an awesome time. It was the first time just the two of us in like 2 years! I left my little man with the hubby and got away. It was really nice, but I missed Landon so much! I was able to stay distracted with so much fun stuff we did. I got the honor of taking her materntiy shots while I was there and they turned out very cool. I get to see her again this weekend...yeah! But after that...not until she is a mommy! 6 more weeks...you can do it girl!

A night at the Spa
For our anniversary I took Kirk to Spa Bliss for the Sweetheart Bliss service. I was able to trade services by taking some photos for the spa for their website. We started out by changing into robes and slippers (Kirk looked so cute!) and than went into the sauna for half an hour. Kirk loved it. He said he felt like he was going back to his Finnish roots. Whatever:) Than we went into the rock tub where the lights were low, candles lit, and champagne waiting for us. It was really romantic, and smelled great in there! Last we ended our evening with side by side hour full body massages. It was amazing. Of course, Kirk was in bed by 8:15 but still. A great way to start our 4th year:)

Summer day at the Park!
We took Landon to the park Sunday afternoon and it was SO hot we decided to let him dabble his feet in the fountain. He did more than dabble...he LOVED it! Unfortunatly I only had my camera phone with me but I got some cute pics and videos, just not the best clarity. I know exactly where Im taking him on the next hot day!

Aunt and Uncle of the Year:) jk
So last year for his birthday we gave Owen a coupon book with all these fun things he can do with Kirk and/or I through out the year. A few posts ago I posted a video of our Dollar Store adventure, also a coupon deal. This weekend, however, was the BIG one. Owen cashed in 2 coupons; A backyard campout with Uncle Beak AND a fishing trip the next morning. All is fine and well except come last May when Miss Margo had a birthday I totally spaced the coupon book idea and got some very much desired Hannah Montana pjs. She loved the pjs, but wondered why she didnt get a special coupon book. Busted. Long story short, Margo got to tag along on Owen's special weekend and have a sleepover with Aunt Jenna in the living room. We all watched Toby Tyler than went to our seperate sleeping arrangements. Breakfast in the morning than the guys went fishin', Miss Margo got pampered, and Aunt Jenna really started to question whether or not she wanted 3 kids still!

My tired guy...
...and no, Im not talking about Landon. My other special guy, Kirk:( Poor guy is in the hardest hours of the whole year right now. He is waking up at 2:30a and getting home around 4:00p. It is so hard. I just pray every day...all day...that God keeps him safe. Waking up that early, driving an hour and a half to work, work hard manual labor in the super hot sun, than driving home is not a recipe for safety. And, with exhastion comes mood swings, crankiness, and all around difficult demeanor. I understand why, but it is still hard to deal with sometimes. I think he does surprisingly well, considering. He is always happy to come home and I KNOW that Landon does wonders for his mood. I just pray that God is divinly present with us for the next few months' controlling our tongues, softening our hearts, keeping Kirk safe, and reminding us of the joy in our lives. Oh, and thank God for coffee!!!!!

Landon's Birthday Party
We had a great time on Saturday for Landon's birthday party. We had a lot of people come to celebrate him which meant so much to Kirk and I. It was pretty hot out (all the food was getting ruined and the cake was melting...which reminded us of 3 years ago when our wedding cake melted!) Landon was a little fussy and very lathargic from the heat. We did our best ot keep him hydrated. When it was time for cake he was so tired that he didnt dig in a whole lot, but since the frosting was blue...it only took a little to make a mess! Oh, and we were so blessed to have our friend Jordan there to snap shots for us through out the whole party!

How a year changes things...
Its amazing how a year can change things so much. Here is our best 1 year re-inactment.... (Kirk looks exactly the same! lol)

First Ice Cream...wow
Ok. So We went to El Primo last night for Landon's birthday. You know how they give you that sherbet on cinnamon chips or whatever? Well, he loved it. Here is a video and some pics to show his delight..and confusion:) Oh, did I mention he had a serious sugar high? He kept squeeling, grunting, giggling, jumping, shaking. It was unreal. Cant wait till the cake on Saturday...oh jeez.

Landon's Birthday
So Landon and I celebrated all day yesterday:) I came into his room singing happy birthday and he stood up holding onto the railing bouncy with glee and a huge smile on his face. He felt special, you could tell. After his first nap we had to run to Ford and drop my car off for a recal and we got a demo car to drive for the day. We put his carseat in...facing forward! He wasnt as giddy as I thought he would be, but you could tell he felt cool. We went and met my mom for a quick bite on her lunch break before I had to get up to the church for a meeting. After my meeting we headed to the park were he had fun on the swings and checked out all the big kids running around and playing:) Went home for a brief nap, back to Ford, back home, and than out to dinner with Daddy and Mommy. We ended the day with a bit of a sugar high and a late bedtime... onto another wonderful year......

Happy Birthday Landon!!!
Well, today has finally come. I shouldnt say finally, it seems like the time flew by! Today my little man turns one year old. I cant even believe it.I just wanted to blog briefly (ya right) about the amazing last year I shared with my little guy. One year ago today I experience the most amazing presence of the Lord I have every had. You know those moments where there is no doubt in your mind that Christ is standing right next to you, whispering to you and orchestrating everything around you? Those are the moments that make it impossible to ever doubt Him or his love and ability to work miracels in our lives. My labor expereince was perfect; literally. I wouldnt have changed one thing about it. It went smoothly, It felt exhilirating, and it was so humbling. I remember clearly the way I felt overwhelemed with undoubted love just by looking into Kirk's eyes. No words needed to be said. 11 hours later I was holding my little man. My first thoughts (If Im being honest!) were, "Holy crap look at that nose!" and "Were you seriosuly floating around in my tummy not but 5 minutes ago? Weird." It wasnt more than an hour when I literally could not put him down; I was so in love. (And the swelling on the nose went down! I think we were all a little releaved!)
Time passed and Landon began to grow, but God stayed ever present. Here are the times I felt so blessed by the Lord's presence;
1.) I remember several times, but one in particular when I looked down at Landon and thanked God so heart felt for trusting Kirk and I with him. I know what I am capable of and I definatly do not have it in me to create a human being. That is all God. He merely intrusted Kirk and I with Landon. He is God's child. It was so humbling to look at what I condisered to be the most beautiful baby in the whole world and know that God trusts us enough to take care of him.
2.) I remember looking at Landon and picking apart his facial features. I thought, "How cool is it that God creat I my child to have all of the features I love about babies. Long eye lashes, Dairy Queen little lips and a cute little button nose." Very cool.
3.) We had the hardest time getting Landon to sleep through the night. We tried EVEYRTHING! When the time came to let him cry it out, we prayed for a week; hard. We had our small group, friends, and family praying too. It was a Friday night that we gave it the first shot. By Sunday he was sleeping through the night. No doubt it was a God thing.
4.) Being that nursed Landon until he was 11 1/2 months old, a bottle was foreign to him. He would not have anything to do with it. I tried off and on starting about 6 months, just incase I was ever gone and he needed to take a bottle. He would not take it...at all. Than, around 10 months I know that weaning was coming soon and he NEEDED to learn to take the bottle. I prayed and prayed and in the morning unstead of going down to nurse him, I went in the kitchen and made a bottle. I went in, sat down and held him in my arms, prayed one more time, and....magic. He took it. No fighting it, nothing. I literally cried. I felt so comforted with God's love for me.
There are so many other great memories from the last year, but I have already written a novel! I will save the rest for my journal, lol.
*Here's to Landon....**cheers**

Why am I so busy?
I feel like I am so busy all the time. I remember right after Landon was born for several months I felt like I was floating on a cloud. Everything in life made me happy. I had no stress and any stress I did have didnt seem to matter because there was so much happiness to overtake it. And, as I am more in love with Landon (and Kirk) today than ever before, I feel the stress of life filling me more than the joy. I wish I could take a short break from it all and get resfreshed.
My little man will turn ONE this Thursday. I. CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. IT! So crazy how fast a year went by. He is so much fun though. Chatting, toddling (still not full on walking but doing really good at the 15 or so step incraments). He has such a little personality that shines through everyday, and yet some little things he has done since birth still shine though. Like how he points his little finger at my nose, eyes, and lips while I feed him his bottle. He is his mama's boy. He gets very irritated when you get in his space...his strong arm pushes you away with a very irritated look on his face. (See Kirk, its nothing personal...it is natural for us!) My prayer this week is that I can get back to a place of pure joy and let all the stresses of life melt away. Time goes by too fast to be anything but happy.
So here's to happiness and to my little man... *cheers!*
