Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday with a bunch of our friends. It was so much fun to have so many people able to go on the same day. Landon was his stoick self in the bright sun but once his little feet his the ground he loved waddling around. (Yes, I do mean waddle. His poor little boots are just enough too big that they make is pretty difficult to walk and they kept falling off!) We all ended up with great pumpkins that we will hopefully carve this week sometime. Here are a few of some of my favorite shots.

Ive been tagged!

Ok so I have been tagged by my sister in law Marisa (to whom my list wont even come close to as interesting!)

1.) I graduated high school a year early and didnt even have classes after lunch the whole last year. (No props to any significant inteligence on my part I dont think, simply a display of how stupid our public school system is.) I also managed to accomplish completing college in 4 years while transfering credits between schools 2x. (That is a result of a mastered art of BSing and sweet talking admissions counselors.)

2.) Yes, I will admit it, I peed my pants until I was about 15 years old. If I laughed, I peed. And not just a little. I had bladder surgery at the age of 13, which didnt work, but eventually the Lord allowed me to outgrow it. I will say though, the whole theory about loss of bladder control after having a baby doesnt apply to me so maybe that net in there holding up my bladder really did help me in some way:)

3.) I go through a gallon of milk an about a day and a half. Its not unusual to watch a brand new jug be half way gone after one dinner. Yup, just me and the hubby. But really, we dont understand why other people dont. Its not like we have a Big gulp sitting there. Just a glass or two. Evidentally that's wierd...but I dont see why.

4.) I have a serious sickness when it comes to colors; I am hypersensitive. If there is any association between two colors I cannot put them together in any sort of outfit or decor without feeling silly; be it holidays, sports teams, schools, popular brands, etc. It drives me nuts.

5.) I cannot sleep if I dont have something over me. Even if it is 103 degrees I atleast have to have a sheet over me. Im sure Im not the only one but Kirk thinks that's wierd...so whatever!

6.) I am deathly afraid of snakes. Like literally, I would probably die if one ever touched me or I was stuck somewhere with one. Oh my gosh, I can hardly breath right now. I have actually not been in my parents back yard since I was 10 and I had a gardner snake crawl across my bare toes. Been 13 years and will not EVER go back there again.

7.) I have really hard time burning candles. I get anxious. It has nothing to do with the fire part of it, I just get anxious over the thought of it burning up and not having the candle anymore. Ive always been that way....no idea what that stems from. Im kind of the same way with good smelling lotion and perfume. Once its like half way gone I use it really sparingly...like only on special occasions. Most of the time it ends up going bad before I ever finish it, which defeats the whole purpose but I just cant get myself to use to all up.

I tag Megan, Tracy, Amy, Jesse, and Kara.

Daddy's Home!!!!

Every night around the time Kirk should be getting home Landon starts to get fussy. He knows. He walks around fussing "Dada." Sometimes we walk back and forth by the front door window and watch for him. When I hear the crummy's engine enter the culd-a-sac and the garage door start to open I yell, "Daddy's Home!." This always causes extreme excitement mixed with eager fussiness and running the the front door. In the summer we would just run outside but now with the cold and rain we stop at the front porch and put our boots on. I love seeing those little rubber boots sitting by the front door. Melts my heart. Anyway, yesterday we had just finished a really messy snack so we were wandering the house in just a diaper. When the garage door opened and I yelled my usual awknowledgment, Landon came running to the front door with his old beaver beanie in hand. He reached up and handed it to me (his way of saying "Put this on me.") So I did and as a result this is what Daddy was welcomed to. Priceless moments I tell ya.

Safari Sams

Yesterday we went to Safari Sams to hang out with a friend of mine from college and her 2 year old son. I had only been there for birthday parties for Margo and Owen and Landon was always too little to do anything, but I now I am loving it.

Reasons why:
1.) It's FREE for kids under 2!
2.) It has a contained area for toddlers
3.) I got to listen to my son BELLY laugh for an hour while enjoying the steps, slides, and slightly older kids.

I could hardly get him to look at the camera through all his excitement.

At first he just sat at the top of the slide and laughed histerically as the older (2 year old) kids went down the slide. Than he started to try to go down.

Than he slid. I love how you can see on his face his fear.

Than he loved it. He took it all in.

He was fearless.
Now that I know he can entertain himself on these types of things we will have to give Scotty's Playhouse a try.

Dinner with the Mackesons

We had the Mackesons over for dinner Friday night and Landon and Cade had their first meeting. Ok...it wasnt all playing with bugs and tonkas but it was still fun to see them together! It is so awesome to me that Megan had a boy because the mommy son bond is so precious and now we get to share it together. It is so nice to be able to see Megan and her family, but it always makes me that much more sad when they leave and I know it will probably be months before I get to spend another couple of days with my special friend. Now that we are both full time mommys, maybe we can make the venture back and forth more. I hope so!

Landon's Precious Moments at 15 months

Again, the busyness of life reverts me list-blogs! My favorite Landon quirks right now...

1.) He knows his toys. He has definate favorites and knows how to use all of them. I know it sounds silly, but Ive watched him from the first time he saw the toys to now knowing which is which, where they go, and what they do. Its so much fun to watch his little brian grow.

2.) He isnt talking much yet, but I can tell that he is about to explode with a vocabulary. He does, however, use influction all day long. My two favorites: When you count out something he will count with you, minus the words. (which is almost impossible to explain in a blog! lol) The other is the intro song to Micky Mouse Club House. He will do the influction along with the roll call. All the time he will just be chatting away, especially when he wakes up. He will just sit in there sometimes for ahalf an hour just chattin by himself.

3.) He loves books. He is constantly carrying books around and bring them over to me to read. I hope he likes books more than daddy and mommy did!

4.) We were driving to Seattle last Saturday and he started saying, "Hi." For a half an hour he kept saying "Hi." Now it is all the time and occasionally accompanied by a wave. It was hilarious the other night. We had our small group over and we were all getting settled in the living room and my mom was cleaning up Landon's high chair so he escaped and worked his way in to the living room. He was just standing there basking in all the attention. Than Crystal walked by him from the kitchen and said "Hi" as she walked by as you normally would. When Landon returned with a "Hi" Crystal's face looked so confused. He talks? It was so funny.

5.) We pulled out a pair of rubber boots that Kirk had gotten Owen for his first birthday. They are a little big but every night when daddy gets home we put them on and he waddles out to give daddy kisses. I love seeing those little boots sitting by the front door.

6.) Big bites for a big boy! Sometimes its hard to know what he is capable of doing and I seem to not give him enough credit a lot of the time. So when we go visit Marisa and the boys I see what Finn is doing and try it for Landon...which he usually picks up without a hitch. This time...no more cutting everything up into bite size pieces! Give him the chuck and he will bite it off himself. Who knew?!

Here are a few pictures of our little guy at 15 months old. Landon and I rode along with Kirk for the day a last week.
