A moment to treasure

So this has no significance and is a totally random thing to post, but I simply dont want to forget it so this way it is documented forever.

The other night I decided to "fancy" up our dinner a bit (which for me means follow a recipe that isnt in our normal rotation). Kirk didnt get home till late so he didnt get to joy of any of what happened. I made stuffed burgers with feta and green onion and a salad in a parmesan bowl. I threw in come honeydew on the side. I was so proud of myself that I decided to take a picture of it. As I was carrying the plate to the table to take the photo, I totally slipped on something and went FLYING. The plate flew, the food flew, I flew (than landed really hard.) It was a fit for TV fall. Landon, who was sitting in a chair at the end of the table just starred at me with huge eyes, so concerned....than he started crying and saying "Mama Mama." He look so scared. He was so worried about me. My 2 year old. It was the SWEETEST thing. I went over to him (covered in hamburger toppings) and gave him a hug and said, "Its ok sweety, mommy's fine." He sort of sniffled a little bit and looked up at me with those big brown eyes as if saying how much he loved me and was so worried about me. *sigh*
....I than went over to pick up all the food and over my shoulder I hear this giggle. I turn around and Landon is giggling, than belly laughing. I kid you not, laughing so hart he could hardly breath. He laughed, straight, for like 5 minutes. He would stop, take a deep breath and say "Oh man" than just keep laughing. Through out dinner, every 10 minutes or so he would look over to where I had fallen and start laughing again saying, "Mama fall?"
It. was. priceless.
I loved it because it is exactly how we as adults react. When someone falls, we are instantly concerned. The second we know they are ok, we begin cracking up! It was hilarious to me that he reacted the exact same way.
And just for fun, here is a picture of the fateful dinner. That will teach me to try something new;) This was Kirk's plate...mine was obviously not photo ready anymore.

Hawaii

So we had a great time in Hawaii last week. Ive been meaning to get on here and make a blog entry with some photos but I have been SWAMPED ever since we got home. It is now 10:30 on Wednesday night and Im actually tired, which is a first since I have still been 3 hours ahead...lying awake at 1:00a. But, I must make this entry so I can chekc it off o fmy To Do List from today:)

I would say the best part of the trip was seeing Landon thoroughly enjoy his cousins. We saw a side of him we have never seen before..and he seems to have brought it home with him which is wonderful. Playful, giggling, goofy in a whole new way than before. Looking forward to going up to Seattle next weekend for Finn's 2nd bday so Landon can play with his cousins some more!

Just a little Update....

Ok, so Ive gotten a lot of responses to the last blog I wrote. Both about the little girls and the purses Meg and I made. So here is a response/update....you will not believe...

1.) The little girls were found later that day...like I wrote before. Evidentally they RAN AWAY! Are you as stunned as I was?! I dont know the exact details so forgive me if any of you know more than I do.... Something to the effect that the oldest had gotten scolded from her Grandma a few days earlier so had been plotting to run away. She took little sis at about 6:30a and they ran off to the dollar store to spend their $8 saved up. Can you even believe it?!?!?!?! I would be LIVID! Those poor parents. I was speechless when Megan told me. I just wanted to share because I know a lof of you, like me, not even knowing these little girls, were terrified over the possibility of what may have happened to them. So, to ease your mind....they simply got ticked at gma. Again, there may be more to the story but that's what I have been updated on.

2.) The purses: In all likelyhood I will NOT be making these bags to put on Etsy unless you think ANYONE would be willing to pay like $100 for them!! THEY TOOK FOREVER PEOPLE!!! Im sure if we were to make more of them it would go faster, but my word! With my luck Id have a busy weekend ahead and get like 7 orders for purses all at once. NO THANK YOU!!!!!! Perhaps I could make some for the craft fair this year or as gifts...but dont hold your breath:)

On a side note...I had 4 photo shoots in the last week so stay tuned for some pics to be shared on my Dolce Photography blog. And if you arent a follower yet....sign up!

My Weekend in Bend

I had another great weekend in Bend with my friend Megan. Its always nice when we are able to go solo...not that we dont love our boys, but girl time is so rare with us it feels so nice when we finally get it!

I got over there around 3:00 and had a newborn shoot for her neighbors at 5:00. We had a yummy dinner, as usual, than went over to JoAnne's to get fabric for a project Megan had planned for us. We spent the first part of Saturday doing some family pics down at Drake Park...than the REST of the day working on these stinkin purses! I had brought my sewing machine so we could both be working together...but of course I left the presser foot at home:( So it took that much longer sharing one machine! But, in the end, they turned out really cute! (Megs is purple, mine is the brown one.)

Sunday morning we went to church, which is always one of the highlights of my trip over there. Their is church is AMAZING. They believe that the bible is the LIVING WORD and the teach from it EVERY SUNDAY. No topical sermons with supplemented material or outside sources. They teach the Word. The history, the meaning, the transaltion, the implication, the truth. I always leave challenged and educated. Their worship is simple but AMAZING. Their preacher holds your attention for the full HOUR that he usually speaks. If it wasnt a 3 hour drive, Id go every Sunday:) This Sunday was heartbreaking though. When we got there the first announcement the pastor made was that a family of their congregation (maybe 200 people?) had experienced a tragedy that morning. When they had gone to get their little girls up to go to church (like 7 yrs and 10 I think) they were not in their beds. They had been abducted and there was no more information. The congregation broke into small groups of 6 or so and started praying. Tears were flowing from everyone. It made my heart stop. How terrifying. It just shook me the rest of the day. It made me realize how LUCKY I am. I mean truly. There has been trumoil boiling in the lives of so many of our close friends lately. And we have stayed afloat through it all. We havent had any real struggles or heartache of our own. How BLESSED is that? I just thought... I need to fall to my KNEES and WORSHIP the God who has been and is still protecting us. It is amazing the love he has poured over us. I immediatly prayed for those girls, for my friends who have faced cancer and miscarriage in one month, for my friends who battle unemployment, for my friends who are enable to get pregnant, for my friends who face uncertainty ahead and lack clarity if the will of their life, for the people in my life who feel depressed or discouraged, for the people who have been cheated on and for the people who face temptation of cheating. For those who's faith in the Alpha and Omega is being doubted and who's is being persecuted. I just prayed...my whole drive home.

I want to scream from a mountian top: MY GOD IS AMAZING! HE LOVES US AND WANTS TO SHOWER US WITH BLESSINGS! The road will have turns and bumps and heartache and doubt...BUT GOD WILL REIGN and HE IS GOOD!

How good you may ask?......those little girls were found alive later that afternoon!
